BADGER project presented at #EUinMyRegion OPEN DAY in Thessaloniki, Greece

The BADGER project was represented during the #EUinMyRegion OPEN DAY, organised by the Information Technologies Institute (ITI) of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) in collaboration with the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) on 16 May 2017 in Thessaloniki, Greece. This event was organised as part of #EUinMYRegion, a European Union-wide campaign that encourages citizens to discover European projects near them. The event featured among others the research results of six out of the numerous NSRF-funded European research projects of CERTH-ITI, as well as current ongoing Horizon 2020 research projects including BADGER.

CERTH-ITI, as one of the BADGER consortium partners, presented the vision, the main objectives and the desired future impact of the project that is to improve the quality of life of citizens by automating civil and environmental applications reducing traffic congestion and pollution of urban environments and by replacing human workers on hazardous jobs such as mining, quarrying and search & rescue. The presentation raised increased interest, which culminated in an open discussion that answered several questions about the numerous potential uses of the project, as well as potential implementation challenges and how they could be resolved.
